The Hollywood Buddhist Temple was originally established in 1915 with adult services only and in 1923 included Sunday School for children. The Hollywood Buddhist Temple has been a family oriented church since the early beginnings and continues to focus on the family.
The Hollywood Buddhist Temple is a branch temple of LAHHBT and participates in the L.A. Betsuin activities such as Ohigan, Hanamatsuri, Hoonko, Obon dancing and carnival, and fundraisers.
Sun Valley Buddhist Temple was established in 1954 to propagate and share the teachings of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism within the community. The Sun Valley Buddhist Temple is a branch temple of LAHHBT and participates in the L.A. Betsuin activities such as Ohigan, Hanamatsuri, Hoonko, Obon dancing and carnival, and fundraisers.
There is an active Fujinkai organization and Dharma School. The Fujinkai is a member of the Southern District Buddhist Women’s Association (BWA) and BCA Federation of BWA.
