As we approach the Betsuin's 125th Anniversary in 2030, our goal is improved accessibility, safety, and functionality for everyone participating in religious and community events at the temple.
The Commemorative Project Goal is to Raise
$3 Million Over the next 4 years.
For nearly 125 years, the Betsuin has served as the spiritual, cultural, and community home for people of all ages and backgrounds.
Conversations with temple members and the broader community who use our facilities indicated a need to improve access for:
- Seniors
- Mobility impaired
- Families with strollers and young children
- Moving Supplies and equipment
In response to these accessibility challenges, our highest priority is installing and elevator to create full access to every level of the temple. Your support will ensure that the Hondo, Columbarium, kitchen, classrooms, and community spaces are more accessible to people of all ages and abilities.
125th Anniversary Project Description
Our Top Priority: Elevator & Accessible Entry
The centerpiece of the 125th Anniversary Commemorative Project is the installation of a new elevator and accessible entrance connecting all three levels of the temple.
The elevator will also require modifications to the ministers' offices and adjoining hallway, along with essential utility upgrades to accommodate the new construction and ensure the long-term functionality, maintenance, and safety of our facilities.
Additional Accessibility & Facility Improvements
ADA-Compliant Restroom Renovations
Transform the foyer restrooms to be ADA-compliant.
Kitchen Modernization
Replacement of obsolete appliances for improved ergonomics and energy efficiency; installation of stainless-steel surfaces for enhanced cleanliness, sanitation, and durability.
Maintenance, Celebration Events
Ongoing maintenance of elevator and facilities, and 125th anniversary celebratory events in 2030.
